Wet 'n Wild Born Into Privilege

Wet 'n Wild Born Into Privilege from the Spring 2012 Coloricon Be Jeweled collection.
Sorry, I could not get an accurate color photo for the bottle.

The next two pictures are Born Into Privilege layered over black.

It's more vibrant, though.

Duochrome glitter! What in the world could be better? I believe that this collection retailed for about $3 at CVS, but also keep in mind that the bottle is as small as it looks; only 0.30 fl oz as opposed to the usual 0.50 fl oz that nail polish bottles usually are.

Born into Privilege is mostly a greenish-golden color.  Since it's a duochrome, though, it has a number of other colors in it.  Some teal at extreme angles, But mostly green and gold. Sometimes silver.  It's mostly that color glitter but then also has some larger hexagonal multicolored glitters too. Looks like a party on your nails.

Let's talk for a minute about the formula.  The formula is okay; perhaps a little thick. It could benefit from some thinner if you plan on layering it over black.  The brush, though, is terrible.  It's very big, rather fluffy, gets clumps of glitter on it, and is not smooth, rather, it's kind of frayed.  It definitely makes application a lot harder.

Overall, I like the color, the shift really isn't that prominent, the brush is crappy, and the nail polish is averagely priced.  If you want to try the color, go ahead, but the whole collection isn't as groundbreaking as it sounds.

China Glaze Rare and Radiant

China Glaze Rare and Radiant from the Fall 2012 New Bohemian collection

Sorry that this picture is blurry, but when I don't use flash they don't focus; I had to get this color, though.

Rare and Radiant.  Another Chanel Peridot dupe.  It seems that every brand is coming out with one: China Glaze, OPI, Jessica--they're everywhere.  This one, at about $6 from Sally's seems to be the cheapest, though.  I think that it's a beautiful golden-green, true duochrome, and I can imagine myself wearing it all of the time. I may even buy a backup, because this collection is limited edition. So if you're on the fence about any of the colors from this collection of chrome duochromes, just get them, because you won't be able to soon.

This color is pretty much opaque at 2 coats, but here I have 4 pictured, because I needed to do an evening coat on top. Since this is a chrome finish, it's very unforgiving. It'll show all textural issues, it bubbles if you apply it too quickly (true for all nail polishes; I was just being impatient).  The formula was perfect, though. Not sheer, not drippy, really perfect.

Do you already have Chanel Peridot or another dupe for it, or have you been waiting for a cheaper version? If you bought a more expensive one, do you regret it now?

Chameleon Corona

Chameleon Corona

Chameleon is such an under-appreciated brand. They're a very small line, but they have some gorgeous duochromes. Corona is a mauve foil with blue duochrome. I wish that I could have got better pictures of the blue, but believe me, it's there.  The angle of the bottom picture shows a brighter fuchsia-pink, but you can't really see it in the picture... I tried!

The finish is a foil, but it gives kind of a rough finish on the nails. It's pretty, but it's a little difficult to work with.  This was 3 coats, I believe.  All in all, I recommend this nail polish, and if you're a fan of duochromes, this is a good drugstore brand for them.

I've never really heard anyone else talk about this brand; have you tried it?

Zoya Gemma

Zoya Gemma from the 2011 Intimate Collection.

Zoya Gemma, 2 or 3 coats... Don't really remember.  It's more of an army green base, like in the top picture, and it has a purple-blue shimmer that you can barely see in the bottom picture.  This color really looks dull without a topcoat, even though the shimmer is visible in pretty much all lighting, so be sure to use a very shiny top coat.  The formula is pretty good, and though the first coat looked pretty sheer, it built up nicely.

Do you like army greens, or other typically 'ugly' colors?

Nina Pro Molten Copper

 Nina Pro Molten Copper

So, I left the bottle picture cropped and big so that you can see the fabulous duochrome/multichrome that I got really visible in the bottle.  I honestly have no idea why this polish is called copper anything, because it really isn't copper at all. It has a sightly green tinted nude base with strong green and pink duochrome. Sort of a rosy color more than copper.  I would classify it as a typical shimmer finish with perhaps a little frost.  More than one color is visible at every angle, and it's a really great duochrome for being only four dollars or so at Sally's.  I also feel that it is work appropriate, since it does have a subtlety to it since it's a light color with a nude-ish base. Truly lovely.

Zoya Adina

Zoya Adina from the 2010 Reverie Collection

Stunning. A true duochrome/multichrome. Originally, I thought that this was just a lavender and green duochrome as seen in the bottle of the last picture, but this time I wore it, I noticed that it also has a beautiful fuchsia at extreme angles. This is opaque in 3 coats, but I have extreme problems with bubbling with this nail polish, as well as most of my other Zoyas. I don't think that it's something I'm doing because my other brands are fine, but Zoya bubbles a lot! This is one of my favorite nail polish colors, though, it's a shame that it's so hard for me to get it to work.

Any idea's to avoid Zoya bubbling?
